Place the ironing board in its open and functional position.
Place the miter saw in the middle of the ironing board and then mark each of the mounting holes in the base of the miter saw onto the ironing board.
Drill out the mounting holes in the ironing board with a drill bit that matches the diameter of the holes in the base of the miter saw.
Secure the miter saw to the ironing board with hex-head bolts and nuts. Use a wrench to tighten the nuts onto the bolts.
Measure from the top of the ironing board to the surface of the base on the miter saw. Measure the space between the end of the miter saw base and the end of the ironing board. Duplicate the step on the other side of the miter saw.
Cut a piece of lumber that measures the same height and length for each side of the miter saw. Cut the boards to a width of 6 inches. Use a table saw to cut the boards.
Place the boards on either side of the miter saw and then drive a wood screw down through the top of the boards and into the ironing board at each corner of the wood board. Countersink the screws into the boards. These boards extend the length of the miter saw table and provide a longer surface for supporting the material you plan to cut.
