How to Install a Mailbox Onto Brick

There are a large variety of supports for mailboxes available on the market. Some of the most common include fence posts sheathed with a plastic cover, and wooden posts. However, you can choose to build your own support from brick, or even mount your mailbox to an existing brick post. Mounting a mailbox to a brick post is simple if you use the hardware provided for you and some additional tools.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Place the mailbox mounting form over your brick support in the position where you wish to mount your mailbox. Mark the positions where your screws attach with chalk. These marks should be in the center of the brick, as far away from the masonry as possible.

    • 2

Place the masonry bit into your drill, and drill out your screw holes in the places marked with chalk. Place steady pressure on the back of the bit.

    • 3

Place masonry anchors mounts in the anchor holes. The masonry anchors will automatically anchor themselves in the holes.

    • 4

Place the mailbox mounting form into position over the masonry anchor mounts. Screw the mailbox anchoring bolts into the masonry anchoring mounts to attach the mailbox mounting form into place.

    • 5

Slide the mailbox into position onto the mailbox mounting form. Attach the mailbox to the mounting form with the mailbox screws.
