* Blot up any excess carpet cleaning solvent with paper towels.
Step 3: Cover Stains
* Use painter’s tape to tape down plastic sheeting over any areas with glue residue and stains.
* Place heavy objects such as books on the plastic to weigh it down.
Step 1: Apply Primer
* Spray on the primer using an up-and-down motion.
* Follow the manufacturer’s directions for the correct application speed and distance from the surface of the carpet.
* Apply a second coat if needed.
* Let the primer dry completely according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Step 2: Apply Paint
* Tape down any areas that should not be painted such as walls and baseboards.
* Apply the paint using an up-and-down motion.
* Follow the manufacturer’s directions for the proper application speed and distance from the surface of the carpet.
* Let the first coat dry completely and apply a second coat if needed.
