How to Assemble Metal Shelving

Assembling metal shelving is an easy task that anyone can do with a few basic tools. Here are the steps on how to assemble metal shelving:

# Step 1: Gather Your Tools and Materials

- Metal shelving unit

- Hammer

- Screwdriver

- Pliers

- Level

- Tape measure

# Step 2: Sort the Parts

- Take all of the parts out of the box and sort them into groups based on their size and shape. This will make it easier to find the parts you need when you are assembling the shelving unit.

# Step 3: Assemble the Frame

- Start by assembling the frame of the shelving unit. The frame is typically made up of four vertical posts and several horizontal beams.

- Insert the vertical posts into the base of the shelving unit. Make sure that the posts are inserted all the way down and that they are secure.

- Attach the horizontal beams to the vertical posts using the bolts and nuts provided. Tighten the bolts and nuts until they are snug.

# Step 4: Add the Shelves

- Once the frame is assembled, you can start adding the shelves. The shelves are typically made of metal or wood.

- Place the shelves on the horizontal beams. Make sure that the shelves are evenly spaced. If the shelves are adjustable, you can adjust them to the desired height.

- Secure the shelves to the beams using the clips or screws provided.

# Step 5: Level the Shelving Unit

- Once the shelves are added, you need to level the shelving unit. Use a level to check the unit from front to back and side to side. If the shelving unit is not level, adjust the feet of the unit until it is level.

# Step 6: Secure the Shelving Unit

- Once the shelving unit is level, you need to secure it to the wall so it does not tip over. Use the lag screws provided with the shelving unit.

- Make sure that the lag screws are screwed into a stud or wall anchor so the unit is securely fastened to the wall.

# Step 7: Add Doors and Drawers (optional)

- If your metal shelving unit came with doors or drawers, you can add them now.

- Attach the doors and drawers to the shelving unit using the hinges and drawer slides provided.

Note: Before you begin assembling the metal shelving, read the instructions that came with the unit carefully. The instructions may vary slightly depending on the model of shelving unit that you have.
