Design your city.
* Sketch out a basic layout of your city on paper, including the major streets, buildings, and landmarks that you want to include.
* Consider the scale of your city and the size of your foamboard. You want to make sure that your city will fit comfortably on the board without being too crowded.
* Consider the elevation of your city. You can create hills and valleys by stacking pieces of foamboard.
Cut the foamboard.
* Use an X-acto knife and a metal ruler to cut the foamboard into the shapes that you need for your buildings, streets, and landmarks.
* Be careful not to cut yourself!
Assemble the city.
* Use a glue gun to glue the pieces of foamboard together to form the buildings, streets, and landmarks.
* Let the glue dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Paint the city.
* Paint the buildings, streets, and landmarks in the colors of your choice.
* You can use acrylic paint, spray paint, or any other type of paint that you like.
* Let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Add details.
* Use scissors, paper, and a pen or pencil to add details to your city, such as trees, cars, and people.
* You can also use small pieces of foamboard to create props, such as benches, streetlights, and signs.
