This plant stand is inspired by the midcentury modern style of the 1950s and 1960s. It is made from simple materials and has a clean, geometric design.
* 1x4 pine boards (4)
* 1x6 pine board (1)
* 2x4 pine board (1)
* Wood screws
* Wood glue
* Sandpaper
* Stain or paint (optional)

1. Cut the boards to size.
* Cut the 1x4 pine boards to the following lengths:
* 2 boards at 12 inches long
* 2 boards at 18 inches long
* Cut the 1x6 pine board to the following length:
* 1 board at 36 inches long
* Cut the 2x4 pine board to the following lengths:
* 4 legs at 12 inches long
2. Assemble the plant stand.
* Start by attaching the 12-inch 1x4 boards to the 36-inch 1x6 board using wood screws. Space the boards evenly, with about 6 inches between them.
* Next, attach the 18-inch 1x4 boards to the 12-inch 1x4 boards using wood screws. Again, space the boards evenly, with about 6 inches between them.
* Finally, attach the legs to the bottom of the plant stand using wood screws. Center the legs on the boards and make sure that they are evenly spaced.
3. Sand the plant stand.
* Use a sander to smooth out any rough edges on the plant stand.
4. Stain or paint the plant stand (optional).
* You can stain or paint the plant stand to any color you like. If you want to keep the natural wood look, you can simply apply a clear coat of sealant.
