    • Ginkgo biloba leaf extract is produced in tablet, capsule or liquid form. Ginkgo biloba can also be found in tea form.

    Medical Uses

    • Ginkgo biloba is used to treat respiratory disorders, fatigue and ringing in the ears. It is also used to improve memory, prevent Alzheimer's disease and treat sexual dysfunction.

    Side Effects

    • Ginkgo biloba may alter metabolism and interact with other prescription drugs when taken. People taking ginkgo biloba may experience nausea, headaches, diarrhea, allergic reactions and dizziness.

    Warning

    • Ginkgo biloba may increase the risk of bleeding, so people who are taking prescription blood thinners or have bleeding disorders should not use ginkgo biloba. Ginkgo biloba should also not be taken by people who are planning on having surgery.
