- Sunflower Seeds (in their shells)

1. Prepare the sunflower seeds. Place the sunflower seeds in a colander and rinse them under cold water. Drain them well.

2. Preheat the oven. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

3. Prepare the baking sheet. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

4. Spread the sunflower seeds on the baking sheet. Spread the sunflower seeds in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

5. Roast the sunflower seeds. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the sunflower seeds for 8-10 minutes.

6. Stir the sunflower seeds. Stir the sunflower seeds with the tongs about halfway through the roasting time.

7. Check for doneness. The sunflower seeds are done when they are browned and the shells are starting to split open.

8. Remove from the oven. Remove the sunflower seeds from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

9. Crack the shells. Crack the shells of the sunflower seeds with your hands or a nutcracker.

10. Enjoy. Serve the roasted sunflower seeds as a snack or add them to salads, trail mix, or other recipes.

Tips:

- You can also add a little salt, pepper, or other spices to the sunflower seeds before roasting them.

- Be sure to roast the sunflower seeds until they are browned and the shells are starting to split open. This will help to ensure that they are roasted all the way through.

- Let the sunflower seeds cool for a few minutes before cracking the shells. This will help to prevent the seeds from burning your fingers.
