Young juniper foliage is needle-shaped and gradually assumes the form of dense, small opposite scales. Juniper foliage color includes light green, dark green, blue-silver and yellow-gold. Juniper ground covers are low-maintenance and range from a few inches to 3 feet high. The plants have high tolerance for poor growing conditions, including heat and dry soil.
