How to Baste a Turkey without Butter

Basting a turkey is an important part of cooking a juicy, flavorful bird. While many recipes call for basting with butter, there are other options available. Here's how to baste a turkey without butter:

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup olive oil

- 1/4 cup white wine

- 1/4 cup chicken broth

- 1 tablespoon dried herbs (such as thyme, oregano, and rosemary)

- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Gather your ingredients.

2. Preheat the oven to the desired temperature according to your turkey's weight and cooking time.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, white wine, chicken broth, dried herbs, salt, and pepper.

4. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.

5. Using a pastry brush, baste the turkey all over with the prepared mixture.

6. Place the turkey breast-side up in a roasting pan.

7. Roast the turkey according to your recipe's instructions, basting it every 30 minutes with the remaining mixture.

8. When the turkey is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.
