Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust according to your spice level)
1 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup yogurt (curd)
1 cup water
Salt to taste
Method:
In a saucepan or wok, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
Let them splutter for a few seconds until the mustard seeds start popping.
Add the chopped onions and fry them until they become soft and translucent.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a few minutes until they become soft and mushy.
Stir in the curry powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well to combine.
Add the yogurt (curd) and stir until well blended.
Gradually add the water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
Season with salt to taste.
