- All-purpose flour

1. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt, and 1/2 cup of water. Mix until the dough is smooth and well combined.
2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
3. Roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
4. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for your maps. You can use any shapes you like, but traditional map shapes include continents, countries, and states.
5. Use a straw or toothpick to poke small holes in the maps for hanging.
6. Place the maps on a baking sheet and let them dry for at least 24 hours, or until they are completely hard.
7. (Optional) Paint the maps with acrylic paint. Let the paint dry completely.
8. (Optional) Spray the maps with a clear sealant to protect them.
