How to Freeze Cooked Apples

Ingredients

* 5 cups sliced apples

* 1/4 cup sugar

* 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. In a large saucepan, combine the apples, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the apples are soft.

3. Let the apples cool completely.

4. Transfer the apples to a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 6 months.

Tips

* To save space, you can freeze the apples in a single layer on a baking sheet before transferring them to a freezer-safe container.

* You can also freeze applesauce. Simply follow the same instructions, but omit the sugar.

* Frozen apples can be used in a variety of desserts, including pies, cobblers, and crisps.
