How to Store Fresh Cranberries

Cranberries are a seasonal fruit and should be used within 2-3 weeks of purchase.

Store cranberries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This could be the main compartment of your refrigerator in an uncovered or loosely covered container as cranberries need air circulation.

Alternatively, they may be left unwashed and frozen for up to a year for long-term storage before consuming or cooking; spread them on a baking sheet with space between then to freeze individually prior to storing in an airtight and labeled freezer-safe container or bag to prevent bruising while frozen so they remain plump to the touch once defrosted for later use when making muffins, cookies, bread, sauce, scones, tarts, pancakes, or smoothies throughout the year.
