How to Cellophane Wrap a Single Flower

If you cut a single flower from your garden to give to someone, wrap it to not only protect the flower, but add to the beauty of the gift. You can use florist cellophane, according to University of Idaho, but waxed tissue paper also works. Florist cellophane is different than the cellophane or plastic wrap used to wrap foods. Florist cellophane is thick, doesn't cling to flowers, is available in different colors and with different designs, and fortunately, is easy to use to wrap flowers.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a piece of cellophane to wrap the flower. You don't need a large piece to wrap a single flower, so a 12- to 15-inch square should work. You can cut the square smaller later, if necessary.

    • 2

Lay the cellophane out and place the flower across it diagonally on one side. Add a piece a leaf, fern or baby's breath underneath the flower to add interest, if desired.

    • 3

Roll the cellophane carefully to wrap the flower. The top near the flower should be loose and wide while the bottom is tighter to help keep the cellophane in place. Secure the cellophane with clear tape, a ribbon or a floral wire.
