How to Make a Robot Day Box

### Step 1: Gather your materials.

* 1 cardboard box about the size of a shoebox

* 1 empty toilet paper roll

* 1 empty paper towel roll

* 1 black marker

* 1 pair of scissors

* 1 glue stick

* 1 roll of masking tape

* 1 battery-powered tea light candle

Step 2: Cut out the robot's body.

* Cut out a rectangle from the cardboard box that is about twice as long as it is wide.

* Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise.

* Unfold the rectangle and cut out a circle for the robot's head from one of the top corners.

* Cut out two armholes from the sides of the rectangle, about halfway down.

Step 3: Decorate the robot's body.

* Use the black marker to draw the robot's eyes, nose, and mouth.

* Draw a line down the center of the robot's body to represent the zipper.

* Draw a few buttons on the front of the robot's body.

Step 4: Make the robot's arms.

* Cut two pieces of masking tape that are about 6 inches long.

* Roll each piece of masking tape into a cylinder.

* Glue the cylinders to the robot's body, one on each side, just below the armholes.

Step 5: Make the robot's legs.

* Cut two pieces of masking tape that are about 8 inches long.

* Roll each piece of masking tape into a cylinder.

* Glue the cylinders to the robot's body, one on each side, at the bottom.

Step 6: Make the robot's head.

* Cut out a circle from the cardboard box that is about the same size as the robot's head.

* Glue the empty toilet paper roll to the center of the circle, slightly off-center.

* Glue the empty paper towel roll to the top of the toilet paper roll.

* Draw the features of the robot's face on the cardboard circle.

Step 7: Assemble the robot.

* Glue the robot's head to the top of its body.

* Place the tea light candle inside the toilet paper roll.

Step 8: Enjoy your robot day box!

* Watch as your robot comes to life as the tea light candle casts a warm glow through its eyes.
