1. Prepare the headlight. Wash the headlight with soap and water to remove any dirt or debris. Dry the headlight thoroughly with a soft cloth.
2. Apply the chemical cleaner. Wear gloves and safety glasses to protect yourself from the cleaner. Apply the cleaner to the headlight using a soft cloth. Be sure to cover the entire headlight, including the lens and the housing.
3. Let the cleaner sit. Allow the cleaner to sit on the headlight for the amount of time specified on the product label. This will give the cleaner time to dissolve the mineral deposits.
4. Rinse the headlight. Rinse the headlight thoroughly with water to remove the cleaner. Dry the headlight thoroughly with a soft cloth.
5. Repeat if necessary. If the mineral deposits are not completely removed, repeat the process.
- If you are using vinegar to remove the mineral deposits, be sure to dilute it with water in a 1:1 ratio.
- Be careful not to get the chemical cleaner on the paint of your car. If you do, rinse it off immediately with water.
- If the mineral deposits are very stubborn, you may need to use a razor blade to scrape them off. Be very careful not to scratch the headlight lens.
- Wash your headlights regularly with soap and water.
- Avoid parking your car under trees or other objects that can drop debris on the headlights.
