How to Change the Front Brake Pads on a Kawasaki Concours

Tools Needed:

- Socket set

- Torque wrench

- Flathead screwdriver

- Caliper grease

Instructions

1. Park your motorcycle on the center stand and turn off the engine.

2. Locate the front brake calipers on either side of the front wheel.

3. Use the correct size Allen wrench to loosen the pinch bolts that hold the calipers in place.

4. Remove the brake caliper from the rotor by pulling it straight off.

5. Inspect the brake pads for wear. The brake pads should be replaced if they are less than 2 millimeters thick.

6. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the old brake pads out of the caliper.

7. Apply a thin layer of grease to the new brake pads.

8. Insert the new brake pads into the caliper.

9. Reinstall the brake caliper on the rotor and tighten the pinch bolts.

10. Test the brakes by squeezing the brake lever. The brakes should feel firm and should stop the motorcycle without any jerking or squeaking.

Here are some additional tips for changing the front brake pads on a Kawasaki Concours:

- Be sure to use the correct torque when tightening the pinch bolts. Overtightening the pinch bolts can damage the caliper.

- If you have any questions about changing the front brake pads on your Kawasaki Concours, consult with a qualified motorcycle mechanic.
