How Much Does Landscaping Stone Cost?

Natural or artificial stone gives your yard a natural and fresh look. Also known as landscaping stones, the stones are typically sold on a square footage basis, though some suppliers sell the stones by the ton or truckload.
  1. Typical Costs

    • Landscaping stones range in price from $189 per ton to almost $600 per ton. The type of stone determines the total amount of stone found in the ton. Edging stones are typically smaller and thinner, which means you get more stones per ton than you would with stepping stones or other landscaping stones.

    Considerations

    • Cut stones are typically more expensive than uncut stones, because it requires more work to shape the stones. Cut stones are cut into different shapes and the edges smoothed down, while uncut stones are left in their natural state. Artificial stones also are more expensive, as it takes more work to make them.

    Delivery

    • Don't forget to factor in delivery costs if you have the landscaping stones delivered to your home. It may cost $100 or more to have the stones delivered.
