How to Install a Brick Flower Bed Wall With a Curve

Edging a flower bed with a brick wall is an attractive way to create a border. You can make your own brick wall along the edges of your flower bed even if it has a curve. The graceful curves of the flower bed will be accentuated by the brick edging. Build a wall that is three bricks high and one brick wide so that it will allow your flowers to be seen yet still create an attractive border. Select reclaimed bricks so that the wall will have a varied and eclectic appearance.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray landscaping paint along the ground where each edge of the wall will be located.

    • 2

Dig out the trench for the wall to a depth of 8 inches with a shovel. Fill in the dug out area with 6 inches of gravel.

    • 3

Tamp the gravel by striking it in an even up and down motion with a tamper. This will create an evenly packed base for the brick.

    • 4

Lay the first layer of bricks end to end along the center of the gravel base. Follow the curve of the gravel base by leaving a small angled gap between the ends of the bricks so that they follow the curve.

    • 5

Clip off the tip of a tube of stone adhesive with the built-in cutter just above the handle of the caulk gun. Puncture the seal inside the tip with the caulk gun puncture tool, which is located either on the back of the handle or the barrel of the caulk gun, depending on the style that you have. Insert the tube tip-first into the caulk gun.

Apply a bead of adhesive to the bottom and ends of the bricks for the second layer and then stack a second layer of bricks on top of the first layer. Stagger the joints in the bricks for a stronger wall. Press each brick firmly in place as you stack them. Stack a third layer, following the same procedure as you did for the second layer.
