Secure a metal L-bracket to the cinderblock wall for each wood fence panel’s rail. Extend garden string along the upper edge of the wood fence’s top rail to the block wall. Mark the locations of the lower brackets directly below the upper brackets. Commercial fence panels typically feature two to three horizontal rails. Measure the height of each rail and transfer it to the wall. Lower the first L-bracket in place and insert the tip of a pencil through each screw hole to mark the locations for the screws on the block. Repeat this process for all the brackets.
Insert a 3/16-inch masonry bit into a drill. Position the tip of the drill into a screw mark and bore a clean pilot hole through the block for the screws, typically three per bracket. Ensure each pilot hole is 1/4 inch deeper than the length of the concrete anchor. Alternatively, measure the length of the anchor, plus 1/4-inch, and mark it on the drill bit with tape so you know how deep to drill each pilot hole.
Position an L-shaped bracket on the wall, ensuring its screw holes match the pilot holes through the block. Use a drill to drive a 2-inch anchor into each hole to secure the bracket to the wall. Ensure the screw heads fall in line with the surrounding wall surface.
Secure the fence panel to the last post and place it against the L-brackets. Drive 2-inch wood screws to join the fence panel and the brackets at the end of the cinder block wall.
