How to Make a Chaotic Deck

Choose a Commander

The first step to making a chaotic deck is to choose a Commander that supports the chaotic playstyle. Some good choices include:

- Xyris, the Wriggling Storm. This Sultai (black/blue/green) Commander rewards you for playing cards with different names, which encourages a diverse deck that can generate a lot of chaos.

- Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain. This Izzet (red/blue) Commander allows you to cast spells from the top of your library, which can lead to some very unpredictable results.

- Nekusar, the Mindrazer. This Grixis (black/blue/red) Commander lets you draw cards when your opponents are dealt damage, so you can quickly cycle through your deck and find the chaos you're looking for.

Include Cards that Generate Chaos

Once you've chosen a Commander, you need to start filling your deck with cards that generate chaos. These cards can include:

- Cards with random effects. These cards can do anything from creating tokens to dealing damage to your opponents. They can be a lot of fun to play, and they can also be very unpredictable.

- Cards that allow you to draw cards. The more cards you draw, the more likely you are to find the chaos you're looking for. Cards that allow you to draw cards include cantrips (spells that draw you a card when you cast them), card draw spells, and creatures with abilities that let you draw cards.

- Cards that let you tutor for cards. Tutoring allows you to search your library for a specific card, which can help you find the chaos you're looking for. Cards that let you tutor for cards include Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Enlightened Tutor.

Avoid Cards that are too Linear

Chaos decks are all about the unexpected, so you should avoid building a deck that is too linear. This means avoiding cards that have a single purpose or that require a specific set of circumstances in order to be effective. Instead, focus on cards that are versatile and that can be used in a variety of situations.

Test Your Deck

Once you've built your deck, it's important to test it out and see how it plays. This will help you identify any weaknesses or areas where the deck could be improved. You can test your deck against friends or family, or you can play it online against other players.
