How to Remove Rust From a Chrome Bathroom Fan

Bathrooms present a perfect humid environment for rust to develop. Thus, your chrome bathroom fan, which has a bright and pristine finish, can easily become tarnished with this rust. If your bathroom is very humid, check chrome fixtures often for rust and remove them as soon as you notice it. If you don’t, the rust could spread.

Instructions

    • 1

Scrub the rusty portions of the fan with a stiff, wire-bristled brush. Work until the rust is gone or until you can’t remove any more.

    • 2

Wet the rusted portion of the chrome if the rust is still visible. Wet an old toothbrush.

    • 3

Dip the wet toothbrush into lemonade powder. The acid powder will help eat away the alkaline rust stain.

    • 4

Scrub the lemonade powder into the rust until it is gone.

    • 5

Soak a clean cloth in clear water and rub it over the area. Dry it completely with a clean cloth.
