How to Remove Ink Spots From Coach Leather Bags

Purchasing a Coach leather bag is an investment in fashion. When cared for properly, the leather on your Coach bag will age nicely and complement your work and casual wear for years to come. Similar to any other leather surface, Coach leather is susceptible to stains that absorb easily. A tiny ink swipe on the leather isn't difficult to remove but you must be fast on your feet to get a larger ink spot out. You can clean your Coach leather bag with the right supplies and careful techniques that get the ink out without damaging the leather.

Instructions

Many inks have an oil base that's absorbed by powder.

Sprinkle baby powder onto the leather surface of your Coach bag to absorb ink from a fresh ink spot. Leave the powder on the leather for 10 minutes.

    • 2

Wipe the baby powder off the leather with a clean, dry cloth.

    • 3
White toothpaste is a safe and effective stain remover for leather.

Apply a pea-sized amount of white toothpaste to the remaining ink spot on your Coach bag. Rub the toothpaste into the leather in a circular motion to loosen the ink.

Dampen a clean cloth with water. Wipe the leather to remove the toothpaste and loosened ink.

Moisten a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol. Lightly swipe the ink spot with rubbing alcohol then blot the ink spot with a dry cloth. Alternate wiping the leather with alcohol and blotting it with a dry cloth until the remainder of the ink spot is removed.

Apply a dime-sized amount of leather cleaner to a dry cloth. Rub the cleaner into the surface of your Coach bag. Follow by buffing the surface with a drop or two of leather conditioner.
