How to Clear Stains off Trex Decking

Comprised of wood and plastic fibers, Trex decking is a green solution to your outdoor entertainment needs. Founded in 1996, the Trex Company prides itself in producing quality decking and railing in an eco-friendly fashion. Since the deck is where guests are commonly entertained and food is often prepared, spills and ultimately stains are inevitable. Between barbecues and the elements, your Trex decking will eventually need some spot cleaning. Removing stains from these decks is simple with a few household items.

Instructions

    • 1

Sweep the deck off with a broom to eliminate fallen leaves, dirt and other debris. This helps to expose stains and make them easier to clean.

    • 2

Spray the deck with water from the hose to clear away any dirt that the broom may have missed.

    • 3

Dump a scoop of bleach-free powdered laundry detergent into a bucket of warm water.

    • 4

Scrub stained areas with the soapy water and a soft-bristled brush. Many common stains can be eliminated simply with soapy water.

    • 5

Rinse off the deck with the hose to eliminate residual soap from the deck.
