How to Remove Salami Casing

Removing salami casing can be a little tricky, but with the right technique, it's easy.

Steps:

1. Lay paper towel on a flat surface. This can be a cutting board, the kitchen table, or countertop.

2. Place the salami on the paper towel. Make sure the salami is completely flat and not overlapping itself.

3. Score the salami casing. You must make a very thin and small slice that does not cut all the way through the salami. Just break the skin. Start the score 1 inch from the top of the salami. Repeat this process at 1-inch intervals until you have scored the whole salami.

4. Peel off the casing. After scoring the casing, grab the bottom of the casing with your thumbs and remove the casing away from the salami starting at the end nearest to you.

Tips:

- If the casing is sticky, you can rinse the salami under cool water before removing the casing.

- Be careful not to cut too deep when scoring the casing. If you cut too deeply, the salami will fall apart.

- If the casing is still difficult to remove, you can use a paring knife to carefully separate the casing from the salami.
