How to Get Gum Off Silk

1. Scrape off any excess gum. Use a dull knife or credit card to carefully scrape off as much of the gum as possible. Be careful not to damage the silk fabric.

2. Rub an ice cube on the gum. This will help to harden the gum and make it easier to remove.

3. Blot the gum with a paper towel. Do not rub the gum, as this could spread it and make it more difficult to remove.

4. Pour some dishwashing liquid into a cup of water. Stir the mixture until the soap is dissolved.

5. Dip a clean cloth into the soapy water. Gently blot the gum stain with the cloth.

6. Rinse the silk fabric with clean water. Blot the fabric with a paper towel to remove any excess water.

7. Allow the silk fabric to air dry. Do not put the fabric in the dryer, as this could damage it.

8. Repeat steps 1-7 if necessary. If the gum stain is still visible, repeat the process until it is completely removed.

9. Take the silk item to a dry cleaner. If you are unable to remove the gum stain yourself, take the item to a professional dry cleaner.
