How to Decoupage With Photos

Supplies Needed:

- Photographs (printed on regular printer paper or photo paper)

- Scissors or a craft knife

- Mod Podge or another decoupage medium

- A foam brush

- A clear sealant (optional)

- The item you want to decoupage (wood, canvas, etc.)

Instructions:

1. Prepare your photographs. Cut the photographs out of their frames and trim them to the desired size. If you are using a craft knife, be sure to use a cutting mat to protect your surface.

2. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of each photograph. Use the foam brush to smooth out the Mod Podge and remove any bubbles.

3. Place the photographs on the item you want to decoupage. Press them down firmly to ensure good contact with the surface.

4. Apply another thin layer of Mod Podge over the top of the photographs. This will help to seal them in place and protect them from damage.

5. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. The drying time will vary depending on the type of Mod Podge you use.

6. Apply a clear sealant over the top of the decoupage (optional). This will help to protect the decoupage from water damage and wear and tear.

Tips:

- If you are using very thin photographs, you may want to mount them on cardstock before decoupaging them. This will help to prevent them from tearing.

- If you want to create a three-dimensional effect, you can use foam adhesive to mount the photographs to the surface.

- Decoupage is a great way to upcycle old furniture and other items. You can use photographs of your favorite places, people, or things to create unique and personalized pieces.
