How to Decoupage Canvas With Mod Podge

Gather your materials:

- Canvas

- Mod Podge

- Paintbrush

- Paper napkins or scrapbook paper with the desired design

- Scissors or craft knife

- Water

- Sandpaper

- Clear coat spray (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the canvas by sanding it lightly to smooth out any rough edges. Wipe away any dust with a damp cloth.

2. Cut out the desired design from the paper napkins or scrapbook paper. If using paper napkins, separate the layers so that you are only using the top printed layer.

3. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of the design.

4. Place the design onto the canvas, smoothing out any bubbles or wrinkles with your fingers or a paintbrush.

5. Apply another thin layer of Mod Podge over the top of the design.

6. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely, which may take several hours or overnight.

7. Once the Mod Podge is dry, you can add additional embellishments, such as glitter, beads, or paint.

8. To protect the finished project, you can spray it with a clear coat spray.

Tips:

- To create a more textured look, you can apply the Mod Podge in thick layers or add sand to the Mod Podge before applying it.

- You can also use other materials for decoupage, such as fabric, felt, or even leaves and flowers.

- Decoupage is a great way to upcycle old furniture or home decor items.
