Here are the materials you will need to make your own reusable makeup remover pads:
- 100% cotton flannel fabric (I used white, but you can use any color you like)
- Terry cloth fabric (I used white, but you can use any color you like)
- 1/4 inch elastic
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Pins
Step 1: Cut out your fabric
You will need to cut out two pieces of cotton flannel fabric, each measuring 5 inches by 5 inches. You will also need to cut out two pieces of terry cloth fabric, each measuring 4 inches by 4 inches.
Step 2: Sew the pieces together
With the right sides together, sew the cotton flannel pieces together along the 5 inch side, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Leave the other three sides open.
Repeat Step 2 with the terry cloth pieces.
Step 3: Turn the pieces right side out
Using a point turner or other blunt object, carefully turn the cotton flannel and terry cloth pieces right side out. Be sure to poke out the corners.
Step 4: Press the pieces
Press the cotton flannel and terry cloth pieces flat.
Step 5: Sew the elastic in place
Cut two pieces of elastic, each measuring 6 inches long.
Pin one end of each piece of elastic to the center of one of the short sides of the cotton flannel piece, wrong sides together.
Sew the elastic in place using a zigzag stitch.
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 with the other piece of elastic and the other cotton flannel piece.
Step 7: Sew the terry cloth pieces to the cotton flannel pieces
With the right sides together, sew the terry cloth pieces to the cotton flannel pieces along the open edges, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Leave a small opening in one side for turning.
Step 8: Turn the pads right side out
Using a point turner or other blunt object, carefully turn the pads right side out. Be sure to poke out the corners.
Step 9: Sew the opening closed
Hand sew the opening closed.
