How to Get Out Powdered Laundry Detergent Stains

Powdered laundry detergent stains occur when the detergent does not fully dissolve in the water. This residue is most noticeable on dark clothing. The way to avoid these stains is to switch to liquid detergent or to fill up your machine with warm water, adding the powdered detergent halfway through this process to allow it to dissolve before adding the clothing. Removing light residue from powdered detergent is often only a matter of rewashing the clothes; however, sometimes you will need to take extra steps to remove the residue stains.
