How to Use a Mini Rex Sewing Machine

## How to Use a Mini Rex Sewing Machine

1. Prepare the machine.

* Make sure the machine is unplugged. Snap off the foot presser by pushing the lever towards the back of the machine.

* Insert the spool pin into the hole on top of the machine and place the thread spool on top.

* Thread the machine by starting with the thread guide near the top of the machine. Continue looping the thread through the thread guides and around the bobbin winder until you reach the needle.

* Thread the needle by passing the end of the thread through the needle hole from front to back. Pull the thread through until there are several inches of thread behind the needle.

* Wind the bobbin by placing an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle and turning the handwheel until the bobbin is completely filled with thread.

2. Load the fabric.

* Place the fabric under the presser foot and raise the needle using the handwheel until the fabric is flat against the machine bed.

* Lower the presser foot to secure the fabric in place.

3. Select the desired stitch.

* Turn the stitch length dial to select the desired stitch length.

* Turn the stitch width dial to select the desired stitch width.

4. Start sewing.

* Plug in the machine and turn on the power.

* Depress the foot control to start sewing.

* Guide the fabric through the machine as you sew.

5. Stop sewing.

* Release the foot control to stop sewing.

* Unplug the machine.

6. Trim the thread.

* Use a pair of scissors to trim the thread, leaving a few inches of thread remaining.

7. Remove the fabric.

* Raise the needle using the handwheel and remove the fabric from under the presser foot.

8. Store the machine.

* Place the machine in its storage case and store it in a cool, dry place.

Tips:

• Practice sewing on a scrap of fabric before you start sewing your project.

• Read the machine manual carefully before using it for the first time.

• If the machine jams, unplug it and carefully remove any tangled threads.

• Use the correct size needle and thread for your project.

• Sew slowly and carefully to avoid puckering or stretching the fabric.

• Press the fabric as you sew to make it easier to handle.
