How to Remove Scratches in a Corian Sink

Corian, made by DuPont, is a brand name for a solid building material used for countertops, sinks and shower walls. With regular use, scratches can occur on the Corian sink. Fortunately, it is possible to remove minor scratches yourself. If the scratches are severe, or you feel uncertain about tackling the repair, contact the Corian distributor to locate a professional to repair the surface of your sink.

Instructions

    • 1

Wash the area thoroughly. Rinse well.

    • 2

Rub the scratched surface with the peach colored surface of the abrasive pad. Rub lightly, as pressing heavily can leave deeper marks.

    • 3

Move the pad over the scratch in a straight line, and not in a circular motion. Move back and forth, and then change directions by 90 degrees.

    • 4

Rinse the pad during the process. Continue moving the pad gently over the scratch mark, back and forth in a straight line, and then switch by 90 degrees. Continue until the scratch disappears.

    • 5

Rinse the area thoroughly. The area may not blend in with the surrounding area, and you may need to repeat the process, covering a larger area.
