How to Fix a Nick in a Leather Chair

  Dampen a lint-free cloth in rubbing alcohol. Wipe the nicked area of the leather chair with the saturated lint-free cloth. Let the chair air-dry before continuing.

  Scoop a little of the repair compound out of its container using the small plastic spatula that is included in the repair kit. Spread the compound evenly onto the nick. Make sure to spread the compound 1/2 inch outside of the nick. Let the compound air-dry completely.

  Smooth out the dried repair compound by gently rubbing with the lint-free cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. Allow the compound to air-dry again.

  Paint the clear coat over the repaired area of the leather chair. The clean coat is applied in the same manner as applying nail polish. Let the clear coat air-dry.

  Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with an approved leather cleaner and conditioner. Buff the leather chair with the cloth to clean the leather and restore the moisture that was lost during the repair process.

Repair Scuffs and Scratches

  Fill a small container with distilled water. Dip the corner of a chamois -- soft leather cloth -- into the distilled water.

  Rub the scuffs or scratches with the dampened chamois in a circular motion. Rub gently for several seconds. If the scuffs or scratches remain, continue with the remaining steps.

  Apply two to three drops of olive oil to a lint-free cloth. Rub the marks gently with the dampened cloth in a circular motion. Continue rubbing gently until the marks are no longer visible.

  Buff the leather chair with a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with an approved leather cleaner and conditioner. Allow the chair to air-dry.
