Stainless steel is a popular choice in kitchen decor and in other fixtures in the home. But if you happen to spill or spatter latex paint on your stainless steel during home building or redecorating, try to wipe it off while it is still wet. If latex paint does splatter on stainless steel and dries before you have a chance to remove it, you do not have to panic. You can remove latex paint with the right products and techniques.

      Put on gloves and open the windows and doors in your home.

      Dampen a clean rag with turpentine.

      Rub it with the grain in a small, inconspicuous spot of the stainless steel to test it. If the stainless steel appears discolored or damaged in any way, stop and consult a cleaning professional.

      Rub the paint with the turpentine rag using gentle motions. Follow the grain of the stainless steel.
