How to Clean Gummy Wooden Kitchen Cupboards

Supplies Needed:

* Vinegar

* Baking soda

* Dishwashing liquid

* Bucket

* Sponge

* Microfiber cloth

* Water

* Olive oil (optional)

Instructions:

1. Remove all items from the cupboards. Before you start cleaning, remove all of the items from the cupboards so you have a clear workspace.

2. Wipe Down with a Damp Cloth: Lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water and gently wipe down the cupboard exterior. This helps to remove loose dirt and dust on the surface.

3. Make a Cleaning Solution:

- In a bucket, mix equal parts vinegar and warm water.

- Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid and stir until combined.

4. Apply the Solution:

- Dip a sponge into the solution and wring it out so that it is damp.

- Wipe the gummy parts of the cupboards with the sponge, using gentle pressure to avoid damaging the surface.

5. Scrub the Gummy Areas:

- For extremely gummy areas, make a paste by mixing equal parts baking soda and water.

- Apply the paste to the gummy spots using a damp cloth and scrub gently until the gummy substance is removed.

6. Rinse and Dry:

- Rinse off the cabinets thoroughly with clean water and a clean sponge.

- Dry with a microfiber cloth immediately to avoid water spots.

7. Condition the Wood (optional):

- To restore the wood's natural shine and protect it, wipe it down with olive oil using a soft cloth.

8. Let Dry:

- Leave the cupboard doors and drawers open for several hours to air dry completely.

Note: If the cupboard doors or drawers are particularly gummy, you may need to repeat steps 3-6 to achieve the desired level of cleanliness. Test a small, inconspicuous area before applying the cleaning solution to the entire surface to ensure it does not damage the finish.
