1. Insert a key into the deadbolt and turn it to the locked position. This will help to keep the deadbolt from turning as you are removing it.
2. Look around the interior of the deadbolt for a small screw hole. It may be hidden behind a metal cover or a plastic cap. If you don't see a screw hole, try inserting a paperclip or small nail into the hole to see if it will go through.
3. If you find a screw hole, insert a small screwdriver into the hole and turn it counterclockwise. This will release the screw that holds the deadbolt in place.
4. Once the screw is removed, pull the deadbolt out of the door. You may need to use a little force to do this.
5. Inspect the deadbolt and remove any remaining screws or parts. Make sure that all of the screws are removed before reinstalling the deadbolt.
6. Reinstall the deadbolt by inserting the latch into the strike plate and then replacing the screws. Tighten the screws until the deadbolt is secure.
