Count the number of doors and windows of the home that needs to be protected against intruders. Purchase additional sensors as needed to add to the sensor security kit, if necessary.
Place a sensor wire plate on the bottom inside edge of the door frame. Screw wood screws through the holes in the plate and into the door frame using a Phillips screwdriver. Repeat this procedure with a sensor connection plate and the inside bottom edge of the door.
Loosen the two screws on the side of the sensor wire plate with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Slit a 2-inch tear in the outer insulation of the electric cable at the end of the electric cable spool with a utility knife. Pull the insulation back to reveal the two inner wires. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation off the ends of the two wires with a wire strippers. Wind an end of a wire each around the two screws. Tighten the screws.
Run the electric cable from the spool along the baseboard of the wall until you come to the room where you will be placing the alarm receiver that comes with the kit. Staple the cable to the baseboard of the wall with U-clamp staples from a stapler gun.
Place the alarm receiver on a table. Rotate the volume knob of the built-in alarm siren fully clockwise. Loosen the two sets of screws on the back panel that are designed to accept signals from the sensors; use a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

Pull the insulation back to reveal the two inner wires. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation off the ends of the two wires with wire strippers. Wind an end of a wire each around a pair of screws on the back panel. Tighten the screws.
Repeat the entire procedure with every other door in the house that is to be protected.
Repeat the entire procedure with every window in the house that is to be protected; the wires are attached to the sensor wire plate that is placed on the windowsill beneath the bottom edge of the window with the sensor connection plate placed on the bottom edge of the window.
Plug the alarm receiver's power cord into a wall outlet for power. Turn the receiver on, if there is a power switch, to activate the intruder alarm.
