How to Adjust an Anderson Doorwall

If your Anderson doorwall slides stiffly or drags slightly, it is out of adjustment. It is important to maintain your doorwall to make sure it lasts as long as possible. Doorwall adjustment is necessary because of the settling of your house and temperature variations. Adjusting your doorwall is not a difficult task. It requires only simple hand tools.

      Remove the adjustment caps located on the bottom inside rail of the door by inserting a screwdriver underneath the tops of the caps and popping them off.

      Insert a screwdriver into the holes in the rail. Turn the screwdriver clockwise to raise the door panel and counterclockwise to lower it. Adjust the door panel one notch at a time.

      Slide the door back and forth to check each adjustment. Close the door to within an inch of the side jamb. Make sure the door is equally close to the jamb at both the top and bottom.

      Reinsert the adjustment caps by snapping them into place.

      Adjust the locking mechanism on the door to ensure that it works properly by inserting a screwdriver into the adjustment screw on the lock. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to the “in” position to make the lock fit tighter. Turn the screwdriver clockwise to the “out” position for a looser fit.
