# How to Reset a Steel-Line Garage Door Motor
1. Locate the motor head unit of your garage door opener. This is usually mounted on the ceiling above your door.
2. There are usually two small buttons (marked "UP" and "DOWN") on the motor unit. Quickly press and release the "UP" button three times, followed by the "DOWN" button three times.
3. You should hear the motor make a slight clicking sound.
4. Try operating your garage door using the remote or wall-mounted control.
5. If your door does not operate, hold the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons down simultaneously for 10 seconds.
6. Try operating your garage door again. It should now be reset.
