Instructions:
If the doorknob does not come off easily, you may need to use a hammer to tap it gently.
The latch is the metal piece that holds the door closed. To remove the latch, insert a screwdriver into the hole on the side of the latch and turn it until the latch releases.
Tips
- If you are having trouble removing the screws, try using a drill with a Phillips head bit.
- If the door knob is stuck, you can spray it with WD-40 or a similar lubricant.
- Be careful not to damage the door or the door knob.

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Pencil
Instructions:
- Remove the two screws that secure the door knob to the door.
- Pull the door knob off the door.
- Remove the latch from the door.
-Unscrew the setscrew on the inside doorknob half
A backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the doorknob hole. The most common backsets are 2 3/8 inches and 2 3/4 inches.
- Insert the latch into the hole in the door.
- Secure the latch with the screws that came with the door knob.
Insert the spindle into the hole in the door knob.
- Slip the outside half of the door knob over the spindle.
- Secure the doorknob with the setscrew.
- Make sure that the doorknob is tightly attached.
- Turn the door knob to make sure that it operates smoothly.
- If the door knob is not working properly, adjust the screws until it does.
