How to Make Real-Looking Ocean Waves Out of Paper

Materials:

- Blue and white construction paper

- Scissors

- Glue

- Ruler

- Pencil

- White paint

- Large paintbrush

Instructions:

1. Cut out a rectangle of blue construction paper that is 12 inches wide and 18 inches long. This will be the base of your ocean.

2. Cut out 2 rectangles of white construction paper of the following dimensions:

- 6 inches wide and 18 inches long

- 3 inches wide and 18 inches long

3. Cut the 6 inch wide rectangle in half lengthwise to create 2 rectangles that are 3 inches wide and 18 inches long.

4. Take the 3 inch wide rectangles and cut one of the 18 inch sides into a wavy pattern. Repeat with the other 3 inch wide rectangle so that both long sides are wavy.

5. Glue the 3 inch wavy rectangles to the 12 inch x 18 inch blue rectangle so that they overlap in the center.

6. Glue the 6 inch x 18 inch white rectangle to the blue rectangle so that it is centered directly below the wavy rectangles.

7. Use the ruler and pencil to draw a horizontal line across the blue rectangle, 2 inches from the bottom.

8. Paint the area below the line white.

9. Let the paint dry completely.

10. Your ocean waves are now complete!
