How to Make a Felt Snowman Hat

Materials:

- 1/4 yard of white felt

- 1/4 yard of red felt

- 1/4 yard of black felt

- 1/4 yard of orange felt

- 1/2 yard of white or silver ribbon

- Pinking shears

- Craft glue or fabric glue

- scissors

- Fabric chalk

- Measuring tape

Instructions:

1.) Cut the white felt into a 20" x 12" rectangle.

2.) Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise.

3.) Trim the edges at the top using your pinking shears. This will create the scalloped edge of the hat.

4.) Cut a 5" x 3" rectangle from the red felt. This will be the bill of the hat.

5.) Cut a 2" x 2" rectangle from the black felt. This will be the brim of the hat.

6.) Cut two 1/2" x 1/2" circles from the orange felt. These will be the eyes of the snowman.

7.) Cut out two 1/4" x 1/4" circles from the orange felt. These will be the mouth and nose of the snowman.

8.) Glue the bill to the front of the hat, about 2" from the bottom edge.

9.) Glue the brim to the bottom of the hat, just above the bill.

10.) Glue the eyes, nose, and mouth to the face of the snowman.

11.) Cut the ribbon into two 24" pieces.

12.) Glue one end of each ribbon to the inside of the hat, just above the brim.

13.) Tie a bow in each ribbon, and your felt snowman hat is ready to wear!
