Instructions

1. Plan Your Project. Before you begin building, you need to decide on the size and location of your lean-to shed. Once you know where you're going to build it, you can start framing the roof.

2. Build the Frame. The frame is the skeleton of the roof, and it needs to be strong enough to support the weight of the roofing material. For a simple lean-to shed, you can use 2x4s for the rafters, and 2x6s for the ridge beam. The rafters should be spaced 16 inches on center.

3. Install Plywood Sheathing. Once the frame is built, you need to install the plywood sheathing. This is what will provide the support for your roofing material. Make sure the plywood is installed with the grain running perpendicular to the rafters.

4. Install Flashing. Before you install your roofing material, you need to install flashing. Flashing is a material that will help to prevent water from leaking into your shed.

5. Install Roofing Material. Once you've installed the flashing, you can start installing your roofing material. The type of roofing material you use is up to you, but asphalt shingles are a popular option for lean-to sheds.

6. Complete the Trim. Once your roofing material is installed, you can complete the trim. Trim is used to cover the gaps between the roof and the walls of the shed.

Building a lean-to shed roof is a relatively simple project, but it's important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure that your roof is properly built.
