Materials Needed:

- New sewer cap (same size as the broken one)

- Pry bar

- Adjustable wrench

- Channel locks

- Safety glasses

Step 1 - Turn off the Water:

- If the sewer cap is located near a water source, turn off the water supply to prevent any flooding while replacing the cap.

Step 2 - Remove the Broken Cap:

- Use the pry bar to carefully pry the broken sewer cap off the drain.

- Be careful not to damage the drain or surrounding area.

Step 3 - Clean the Drain:

- Use a brush or rag to clean the drain of any dirt, debris, or old sealant.

Step 4 - Apply Sealant:

- Apply a bead of sealant around the edge of the new sewer cap.

- Make sure the sealant is evenly applied and covers the entire edge of the cap.

Step 5 - Place the New Cap:

- Carefully place the new sewer cap over the drain.

- Make sure the cap is seated properly and the sealant is not disturbed.

Step 6 - Secure the Cap:

- Use the adjustable wrench or channel locks to tighten the bolts or screws that secure the cap to the drain.

- Make sure the cap is securely fastened and will not come loose.

Step 7 - Turn on the Water (if applicable):

- If you turned off the water in Step 1, turn it back on now.

- Check for any leaks around the new sewer cap.

Step 8 - Clean up:

- Clean up any residual sealant or debris from the area.
