- New sewer cap (same size as the broken one)
- Pry bar
- Adjustable wrench

Step 1 - Turn off the Water:
- If the sewer cap is located near a water source, turn off the water supply to prevent any flooding while replacing the cap.
Step 2 - Remove the Broken Cap:
- Use the pry bar to carefully pry the broken sewer cap off the drain.
- Be careful not to damage the drain or surrounding area.
Step 3 - Clean the Drain:
- Use a brush or rag to clean the drain of any dirt, debris, or old sealant.
Step 4 - Apply Sealant:
- Apply a bead of sealant around the edge of the new sewer cap.
- Make sure the sealant is evenly applied and covers the entire edge of the cap.
Step 5 - Place the New Cap:
- Carefully place the new sewer cap over the drain.
- Make sure the cap is seated properly and the sealant is not disturbed.
Step 6 - Secure the Cap:
- Use the adjustable wrench or channel locks to tighten the bolts or screws that secure the cap to the drain.
- Make sure the cap is securely fastened and will not come loose.
Step 7 - Turn on the Water (if applicable):
- If you turned off the water in Step 1, turn it back on now.
- Check for any leaks around the new sewer cap.
Step 8 - Clean up:
- Clean up any residual sealant or debris from the area.
Your broken sewer cap is now replaced and your drain is ready to use!
