How to Make a Cinder Block Shower

Materials:

- Cinder blocks (enough to make the desired size shower)

- Mortar

- Trowel

- Level

- Tape measure

- Pencil

- Safety glasses

- Gloves

Instructions:

1. Prepare the foundation. The foundation for your cinder block shower should be level and solid. If you are building the shower on a concrete slab, you can simply clean the slab and make sure it is level. If you are building the shower on a dirt floor, you will need to pour a concrete foundation.

2. Lay the cinder blocks. Start by laying the cinder blocks in a rectangular shape, making sure that the blocks are level. Use a level to check the blocks as you lay them. If a block is not level, you can adjust it by tapping it with a rubber mallet.

3. Apply mortar to the cinder blocks. Once the cinder blocks are laid, you need to apply mortar to the joints between the blocks. Use a trowel to spread the mortar evenly. Make sure that the mortar is pushed into the joints all the way.

4. Let the mortar dry. The mortar will need to dry for at least 24 hours before you can proceed to the next step.

5. Build the shower walls. Once the mortar has dried, you can begin building the shower walls. Start by laying another row of cinder blocks on top of the first row. Overlap the joints between the blocks so that they are staggered. Continue laying cinder blocks until the walls reach the desired height.

6. Apply mortar to the shower walls. Once the shower walls are built, you need to apply mortar to the joints between the blocks. Use a trowel to spread the mortar evenly. Make sure that the mortar is pushed into the joints all the way.

7. Let the mortar dry. The mortar will need to dry for at least 24 hours before you can proceed to the next step.

8. Install the shower floor. The shower floor can be made of concrete, tile, or another waterproof material. If you are using concrete, you will need to pour the concrete into the shower pan and let it dry for at least 24 hours. If you are using tile, you will need to set the tile in thinset mortar and let it dry for at least 24 hours.

9. Install the shower fixtures. Once the shower floor is installed, you can install the shower fixtures. This includes the shower head, faucet, and drain. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing the shower fixtures.

10. Enjoy your new cinder block shower!
