How to Clean a Toilet Drain

1. Gather your materials.

- Baking soda

- Vinegar

- Bucket

- Plunger

- Old toothbrush

- Rag or paper towels

2. Prepare the toilet.

- Flush the toilet to empty the bowl.

- Pour 1 cup of baking soda into the toilet bowl.

- Follow with 1 cup of vinegar.

- The mixture will fizz and bubble. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

- While waiting use an old toothbrush to clean the toilet rim and flush valve area.

3. Plunge the toilet.

- Fill the toilet bowl with hot water from the sink or shower.

- Plunge the toilet vigorously for several minutes.

- The combination of the baking soda, vinegar, and plunging should break up the clog.

4. Flush the toilet.

- Flush the toilet to see if the clog is cleared.

- If the clog is still present, repeat steps 1-3.

5. Clean up.

- Use a rag or paper towels to wipe up any residual baking soda and vinegar from the toilet bowl and floor.

- Flush the toilet one last time to rinse away any remaining debris.
