1. Materials:
- Rolls of pew bows or ribbon
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Wire cutter if ribbon is wired (optional)
2. Measuring and Cutting:
- Start by taking measurements of your pews or chairs to determine the length of ribbon needed for each bow.
- Add a few extra inches to account for tying and wrapping the ribbon.
- Cut the ribbon into desired lengths.
3. Forming the Bow:
- For a standard pew bow, fold the ribbon in half lengthwise, creating a loop at one end.
- Hold the loop in one hand, and with the other hand, pull the two tail ends through the loop.
- Tighten the bow by gently pulling on the tails until the desired shape is formed.
4. Attaching to Pews:
- Position the center of the bow where you want it to be attached to the pew.
- Bring the two tail ends of the ribbon around to the back of the pew.
- Use a stapler to secure the ribbon to the back of the pew, making sure the staples go through both layers of the ribbon for extra security.
- Alternatively, you can use twist ties or zip ties to secure the bow if you don't have a stapler.
- Make sure to staple or tie the bow securely to prevent it from slipping or coming loose during the ceremony.
5. Finishing Touches:
- Adjust the shape and fullness of the bow to your liking.
- If desired, you can add additional decorations such as floral embellishments, greenery, or beads to the center of the bow.
- Repeat the process for all of the pews or chairs that you want to decorate with bows.
6. Safety Precaution:
- Be careful not to over-tighten the bows, as this can cause damage to the ribbon or pews.
