How to Apply Semi-Gloss Paint

Preparation

1. Clean and sand the surface. Make sure the surface is free of dirt, grease, and other debris. Sand it with a fine-grit sandpaper to remove any rough spots.

2. Apply primer. This will help the paint to adhere better to the surface.

Application

1. Apply the first coat of paint. Use a roller or brush to apply the paint in thin coats. Avoid applying it too thickly, as this can cause the paint to run or drip.

2. Let the first coat dry completely. This will typically take about four to six hours.

3. Lightly sand the first coat. This will help to create a smooth surface for the second coat of paint.

4. Apply the second coat of paint. Apply it in thin coats just like you did the first coat.

5. Let the paint dry completely. Allow the paint to dry for at least 24 hours before moving furniture back into the room.

Tips

* Use a roller for large surfaces and a brush for small areas.

* Avoid painting in direct sunlight, as this can cause the paint to dry too quickly and lead to cracking.

* If you are using a roller, use a lint-free roller cover to avoid leaving behind any lint in the paint.
