1. Remove any hardware. This includes the hinges, handles, and any other metal parts.
2. Clean the footlocker. Use a mild detergent and water to remove any dirt or grime. Be sure to dry the footlocker thoroughly before proceeding.
3. Sand the footlocker. This will help to create a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to. Use a fine-grit sandpaper and sand in the direction of the grain.
4. Apply a primer. This will help the paint to adhere better to the footlocker. Be sure to follow the directions on the primer can.
1. Choose a paint. You can use any type of paint for this project, but I recommend using a spray paint for a smooth, even finish.
2. Apply the paint. Be sure to follow the directions on the paint can. If you are using a spray paint, hold the can about 10-12 inches away from the footlocker and spray in a sweeping motion.
3. Allow the paint to dry completely. This will usually take about 24 hours.
Once the paint is dry, you can reattach the hardware. Be sure to use the same screws that you removed earlier.
